Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the current status of digital competence and identify factors influencing students’digital competence at Hanoi National University of Education. A quantitative research methodology was implemented through a questionnaire survey of 629 full-time students, with data calculated via composite scores and processed using SPSS software. The findings indicate high levels of technological readiness among students, particularly in their proficiency within the "Communication" and "Information Retrieval" domains. Linear regression and ANOVA analyses show no statistically significant differences in perceived competence, as factors such as gender, ethnicity, and academic major did not yield statistically significant differences (p>0.05). However, the academic year was identified as a pivotal predictor, with final-year students demonstrating a significantly higher levels, underscoring the critical role of the university environment in fostering the systematic accumulation of digital skills in alignment with national standards. Consequently, the study discusses strategies for integrating digital competence into curricula and upgrading ICT infrastructure to prepare a workforce capable for the digital era.
