Abstract

The study is to explore how high school students cope with cyberbullying. 834 students from three high schools in Quang Ngai City participated in the study. Results showed that 35% of the respondents reported that they had participated in cyberbullying in various roles. There was no significant difference between males and females in terms of involvement in or being victims of online bullying. No correlation was found between age and involvement in online bullying or victimization. Students employed various coping strategies when experiencing online bullying, with gender differences noted in the coping strategies of “Seeking Social Support” and “Internalization.” A positive correlation was observed between age and externalizing coping strategies. Additionally, there was a positive correlation between being bullied online and coping strategies such as Seeking Social Support, Problem Solving, Detachment, Internalization, and Externalization. The research results have contributed valuable data on the study of cyberbullying and the coping of high school students.
