Abstract

The professional development of preschool teachers is a key factor in the global effort to enhance the quality of early childhood education. Using the document analysis method, this article provides a comprehensive overview of the factors influencing the professional development of preschool teachers globally and in Vietnam. Subjective factors include policies and compensation, the working environment and management practices, and societal perceptions of the teaching profession. Objective factors encompass teachers' autonomy, motivation for personal development, and experience. The article identifies research gaps and suggests new directions, aligned with sustainable development, for future studies on the professional development of preschool teachers in Vietnam.
