EDUCATION ON THE PREVENTION OF CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE FOR STUDENTS: A CASE STUDY FROM SEMI-BOARDING ETHNIC MINORITY PRIMARY SCHOOLS IN MUONG NHE DISTRICT, DIEN BIEN PROVINCE

Sexual abuse prevention education for primary school students is an urgent task, especially in remote and mountainous areas where ethnic minority students have limited awareness and self-protection skills. This study investigates the practical implementation of this educational content at semi-boarding ethnic minority primary schools (PTDTBT) in Muong Nhe District, Dien Bien Province an area with particularly difficult socio-economic conditions and ethnic diversity. Data were collected through questionnaires, field observations, and analyzed using SPSS software. The findings reveal significant limitations in the awareness of students, teachers, and parents, alongside a lack of appropriate teaching materials, curricula, and pedagogical skills for delivering sensitive content. Based on these realities, the study proposes practical solutions to improve the effectiveness of sexual abuse prevention education, aiming to build a safe, friendly learning environment and to enhance self-protection skills among ethnic minority primary school students.
