The famous American writer Shirley Jackson has a modest number of works, but her ideological influence is very wide. With her unique minimalist psychological writing style, her short stories create many gaps and layers of meaning. Readers are encouraged to participate in co-creation, which has given Jackson's stories the advantage of being easily adaptable to readers over time. The art of exploiting the sinful corners of the human soul is also a strength of Jackson's stories. That has created temporary reactions from readers who are used to stories praising morality, but later they were recognized as unique pieces of literature about bad customs that hinder human freedom and happiness.
