THE IMPACT OF BIRTH RATE AND DEATH RATE ON POPULATION SIZE AND STRUCTURE: A MIXED-METHOD APPROACH

The paper focuses on studying the impact of two critical demographic processes - birth rate and death rate - on the population size and structure globally, across geographical regions, and in several representative countries. From a quantitative perspective, the research employs the Pearson correlation method and a bivariate regression model to measure the extent of influence that birth and death rates have on changes in population size and structure. Meanwhile, the qualitative method, including analysis, synthesis, and comparison, concentrates on clarifying the complex and multifaceted impacts of the birth and death rates on the population size and structure in the territories under study.
