Abstract

This study examined the current status, trends, and solutions in climate change communication (CCC) from a global perspective, with a focus on its practical implementation in Vietnam. CCC has evolved from a primary focus on scientific data to a more audience-centered approach, incorporating visual storytelling. However, this field faces significant challenges, including political polarization in climate change perceptions, the spread of misinformation on digital platforms, and difficulties in translating complex scientific content into accessible messages. Given that Vietnam is among the most climate-vulnerable countries, improving the effectiveness of CCC remained imperative. This study proposes leveraging digital technology, establishing fact-checking mechanisms, tailoring communication messages for specific audience groups, and strengthening collaboration among stakeholders to ensure accurate information dissemination, ultimately fostering public awareness and promoting adaptive responses to climate change.
